Nationalpark Hohe Tauern
The Hohe Tauern, the highest range of the Alps east of the
Brenner Pass, includes the highest mountains in Austria. The
Hohe Tauern National Park was established in 1981 and is
therefore Austria's first National Park. The National Park
developed into the larg-est nature reserve in Central Europe,
with an area of over 1,834 km2.
